As promised, dear reader, here are Emily’s notes from her adventures in Edale so far. Should she survive it all, a full newspaper article is imminent.
Emily’s Notes
Murders happening in Lesser Edale by a werewolf (?) – from a letter to The Scoop. Started three months ago.
Constable Tumwell shot at the “werewolf” and scared it off but it had already taken two victims – George Osgood and Lydia Perkins – and injured a third (Harold Short, who moved to Skegness).
Local family called the Vanes – father Lord Arthur, son Lawrence (25) and daughter Ophelia (turned 21 on the night of the first murder). Lawrence was seen fleeing one of the murder scenes.
Vicar Stratton saw a “6ft black dog with red eyes”?!?!?!?
All attacks happened on a full moon.
Met Vicar Stratton – he has a lot of books on werewolves and curses. Some interesting (?!) stuff about local legends; information seems to link up Charles II, Plum Castle (where the Vane’s live), the Vane family and someone called Lady Evangeline. There is a depiction of a witch burning.
A letter tells that the Vane family pass a werewolf curse through the female line – they are “marked by the beast”, dating back to Lady Evangeline.
OPHELIA IS VICAR STRATTON’S DAUGHTER AND SHE IS THE WEREWOLF!!!!!!
…
